I hold a PhD in Plant Molecular Genetics and a Master’s in Plant Breeding, both from the University of Cambridge, UK. I have been a lecturer at the University of Ghana since 1994 and am now a Full Professor and the Founding Director of the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI). I have led strategic collaborations and established WACCI as a world-class center for teaching, research, and extension. Through this work, I have contributed to the training of 120 PhD graduates in plant breeding from 15 African countries. My research focuses on developing improved crop varieties using advanced breeding technologies. I have also led the development and release of improved hybrid maize and tomato varieties, which are now being commercialized in Ghana. (责任编辑:admin) |
