Current Job

Job Responsibility:

· Implementation of experiments on the genetic improvement of olives, description of olive cultivars, and organic production system.

· Trainer /certified by FAO as trainer/ in field of organic agriculture (organic olive orchard management, marketing of organic products),

· Reviewer in Syrian and foreign scientific journals.

· Member of the ministerial committee responsible for converting Zahed Research Station (in Tartous, north of Syria) into certified organic research station.

Member of the ministerial committee responsible for the classification and documentation of the orchard of mother trees and genetic collections for fruit trees in Syria.

Scientific Puplished Research

More than 30 scientific articles published in peer reviewed journals. In field of evaluation of genetic resources of plants, olive genetic breeding, organic agriculture system.

Conference and Scientific Seminars

Participate in 18 local and foreign conferences.

Particpation in Scientific Projects

Participate in 6 projects held in collaboration with international olive oil Council, other with Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Mediterraneennes (CIHEAM), The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. And also with Higher Commission for Scientific Research.

Contribution with develoment organizations, initiatives, and volunteer work

· Contribute as a trainer with student initiative “Chloroplast” licensed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Syria,

· Participation as a trainer in the Livelihood Improvement Program of the Danish Council, and Norwegian Refugee Council Establishing the Syrian Women’s Network for olive oil within the Arab Network in coordination with the International Olive Council.
