Mirjana Gurinović

Mirjana Gurinović, MD, PhD Nutrition, Senior research advisory, EC , WHO, FAO Nutrition expert  in the field of Sustainable Food Systems for healthy diets and public health nutrition scientists, actively engaged in research on nutrition, public health nutrition epidemiology, harmonization of the  dietary intake assessment, nutrient recommendations, food and nutrition policy, food composition data bases, nutritional tools development and research infrastructure and capacity development in food and nutrition specific for  CEE countries, with considerable experience in international collaboration and work in a European dimension in several EC projects, collaboration with EC, UN FAO, WHO, UNICEF, UNU SCN and  EFSA. She is a member of number of expert groups (EG) including: European Commission (EC) High Level Expert Group (HLEG), to assess the needs, potential, feasibility and approach for an International Platform for Food Systems Science (IPFSS) ; EG -European Partnership for  Sustainable Food Systems for People, Planet & Climate -Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA); “EU Think Tank” FOOD 2030; EG on healthy and sustainable diets-WHO Europe;  EFSA Scientific Network on Food Consumption Data,  EG on ‘Evaluation of New Methods for Dietary Intake Assessment’; Addition of Nutrients to Food Task Force EG on Mapping Low Micronutrient Intake across Europe; Nutrition EG in European Heart Network where she contributed to the European food and nutrition recommendations for cardiovascular diseases prevention. She was coordinator of the Regional FAO/WHO Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets in Europe and Central Asia, Hungary, 2017. As a project leader and advisory she contributed to implementation of harmonized food consumption data collection in the Balkan Region according to the EFSA EU Menu Methodology Standards in 6 national surveys. She is a chair: United Nation University /Standing Committee of Nutrition, Network for Capacity Development in Nutrition in Central and Eastern Europe- Capacity development in Nutrition, NCDNCEE /CAPNUTRA, Serbia and contributed to capacity development in CEE region.
