Islam H. Elghonaimy

Prof Elghonaimy is a postgraduate studies coordinator at the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain. He has been a professor since 2014 and an associate professor from 2007 to 2014. He was also appointed an Assistant Professor in 2000.

Academically, his experiences vary between working in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, Egypt, and different universities in Saudi Arabia. In 2000, he was accredited with a Doctoral of Philosophy degree in "Environmental Assessment of Urban Area.” Formerly in 1995, he was approved for the M.Sc. degree in Environmental Management and Economics. In 1988, he was certified for a B.Sc. degree as an (Architect).

Professionally, the author is a motivated, eager beaver with an encompassing disciplinary interest in Environmental Studies, urban planning, Management, and Architectural studies. He has been a senior-ranking Landscape Architect Consultant since 2006.

He is a long-time professional with 33 years of experience vetting the manifold disciplines of architecture, urban Design, and landscape architecture. He did the honors of setting forth the consultation services in City Urban Planner for Iraq – Kurdistan Region, 2012-2016. He was assigned as an Urban consultant for the World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University (UNU-WIDER), Helsinki, Finland, in 2007 and 2012 and as a City Development Strategy Consultant for World Bank projects with Arab Urban Developing Institute (AUDI), League of Arab States, Arab Towns Organization, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2005 till 2012.

Publications: prof Elghonaimy is renowned for his dozen books and handouts, 28 white papers, and Articles in Refereed Professional Journals. Besides chapters in books and books, he has issued 108 Papers submitted to Scientific and Professional Conferences and symposiums on equal grounds. Moreover, he burnt midnight oil fruited in his publications. And 11 articles for un-Scientific Magazine and 5 unpublished technical Reports. He has a hand in 25 other Short-Timed Courses, Editorial Board, and Organization Committee activities. He was a referee at conferences, academic symposiums, and a scientific committee.
