I come from a rural community in Honduras where I have witnessed firsthand how environmental degradation, deforestation, and climate change affect families' livelihoods, especially those dependent on agriculture and natural resources. This reality motivated me to train as a Forestry Engineer, committed to contributing to ecosystem restoration, sustainable land management, and strengthening local capacities.
I have worked at the Forest Conservation Institute (ICF) on national reforestation and forest fire prevention programs, coordinating field activities, training communities, and using geospatial monitoring and analysis tools. I have also participated in environmental education processes and provided technical support to producers through the implementation of agroforestry systems, strategies that integrate conservation with local economic development.
My undergraduate thesis focused on the composition and floral diversity of a microwatershed, which strengthened my interest in applied research for the conservation and management of natural resources.
My professional vision is to continue contributing to territorial development models that integrate environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and well-being for rural communities, with a participatory and inclusive approach.
