Angel Mujica Sanchez

Dr. Ángel Mujica, plant breeder with 40 years of experience in research and technology transfer of Andean Crops, particularly Quinoa,Kiwicha, Cañihua, Tarwi. Professor at Universidad Nacional del Altiplano Perú, Leads Crop Improvement Program and Agronomic training, in bachelor's degree (Agricultural Engineer) and graduate levels (Master and Doctor), with National Scientific, Technological and Technological Innovation Registry of Peru-RENACYTN° P0002469, Level: 11, validity: 01/10/2019 to 01/10/2025; ORCID:N°0000-0002-7013-8780and College of Engineer of Penú N°10433. His research is focused on the improvement of Andean crops through crosses, selection and breeding methods for cultivation, harvesting and post-harvest. He has extensive experience in technology transfer to professionals and farmers, administrative experience includes positions of National and International Director of Research Programs and Technology Transfer in Andean Crops and Experimental Stations in Peru.National Director of the Andean Crops Research ProgramINIA-Peru, Coordinator of the Cooperative Research Program on Andean Crops in the Andean Zone-PROCIANDINO (Venezuela,Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia). Senior Advisor for International Technical Cooperation Projects,He has experience as a Scientific Consultant in International Technical Cooperation Projects and extensive experience in the evaluation of agricultural projects and local development; in the academic field he was General Director of the Graduate School and Director of Research at the University of the Altiplano, currently director of the Postgraduate Unit of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences,Doctorate in Science, Technology and Environment. He has organized, characterized and founded germplasm banks of Andean crops,obtaining and distributing new varieties, product of his research and improvement work. He traveled extensively to Peru and the Andean area of South America, to collect germplasm of native crops, give lectures to scientists, producers and students, provide technical assistance to producers, professionals and evaluate international technical cooperation projects. He was National Director of the Quinoa Project: multipurpose cultivation for the Andean countries: Peru, Bolivia,Colombia, facilitator and consultant of the In situ Conservation of Native Crops Project UNDP-Project PER/98/G33, Director of UNA Research Centers and Institutes, advisor to the Organic Quinoa Project, UNDP-SCANAGRI-Denmark,evaluator of International Technical Cooperation projects, in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, FAO consultant for the development of the food security and sovereignty project for Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, General Coordinator of the American Amaranth Test, General Coordinator of the World Quinoa Test for FAO, Consultant for the Quinoa Program INIAP-Bolivia, General Coordinator and research leader of the grain Andean - INCAGRO,Principal Investigator of the KispiÃo de quinoa project - CONCYTEC, Senior Lecturer in the Science, Technology and Environment Doctoral Program, Senior Lecturer in the Master's Degree in Andean Agriculture, UNA, Peru; he has published scientific articles in indexed jourals on quinoa and Andean crops, technical bulletins, cultivation manuals and books on Andean crops in international scientific joumals and international organizations, he is currently General Coordinator and Research Leader of the quinoa genetic improvement project in Peru, KWS- Germany, General Coordinator and Research Leader of the LATINCROP Project(Denmark,England, Spain,Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador) in Peru. Lecturer and international consultant on research, production and transformation of Andean crops.Director and Advisor of theses in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate, as well as thesis jury at the three levels at UNA-Puno and other universities in the country and abroad. Visiting researcher atUNAM- Mexico,UNC-Argentina, Keynote speaker at world and international congresses on Andean crops, making technical visits to China(CAS), Dubai(EA), Germany(U. Hohenheim),Denmark (U.Copenhagen), Spain (U.Autonomous of Madrid, U. of Sevilla, U. Cordoba) and Andean countries (Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela,Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay,Brazil).
