Hainan’s First “Shiology Education Classroom” Public Welfare Project Officially Launched in Chengmai

Recently, Hainan's first“Shiology Education Classroom” public welfare project, themed “Healthy Hainan, Starting with Children,”was successfully launched in Chengmai. The event was attended by Liu Guangwei, Chairman of the World Shiology Forum and Director of the Shiology Research Center at Renmin University of China, as well as teachers and student representatives from Chengmai Affiliated Primary School of Hainan Middle School. The event also saw the presence of caring entrepreneurs and sponsor representatives from across the country, all witnessing the integration of food education into schools and classrooms.

This“Shiology Education Classroom”public welfare project is jointly supported by the World Shiology Forum and the Shiology Research Center at Renmin University of China. It aims to leverage public welfare power to enhance primary education and integrate food studies into daily school life. The project encourages children to adopt scientific eating habits, cultivate healthy dietary practices, and support the comprehensive development of youth in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor aspects.

During the launch ceremony, Director Liu Guangwei introduced the concept of shiology education. He emphasized that its core objective is to guide children towards scientific eating and health, effectively preventing issues such as malnutrition and obesity. This initiative helps young people build a solid foundation for health during their critical growth periods. Liu added that shiology education not only relates to individual health but also serves as an important vehicle for passing down food culture, promoting food conservation, and respecting labor as a traditional virtue.

At the event, students from Chengmai Affiliated Primary School of Hainan Middle School, under the guidance of their teachers, wore matching aprons and chef hats while reciting the "Three-Character Classic of Shiology Education." This systematic learning of basic shiology knowledge is part of their education. In the practical session, the children had the opportunity to select ingredients, create and package rice balls, and, through hands-on activities, gain a direct understanding of ingredients, appreciate the value of labor, and learn to cherish food. This immersive experience introduced them to shiology education.

Moving forward, the “Shiology Education Classroom”public welfare project will continue to expand to more primary and secondary schools in Hainan. The course system will be improved, and practical scenarios will be enriched. Shiology knowledge, health concepts, labor education, and moral development will be organically integrated, nurturing young hearts with shiology education and supporting their healthy growth. This initiative aims to lay a solid foundation for children’s health and contribute to the construction of a healthy Hainan.
