The World Shiology Forum (WSF), founded in 2017, serves as a high-end international dialogue platform. Grounded in the theoretical framework of Shiology, the forum aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aspires to achieve a lifespan of 100 years per capita (8BX100Y) by the end of this century. The forum is dedicated to systematically addressing dietary issues that hinder sustainable human development and promoting the establishment of a new order that safeguards the dietary interests of the world's 8 billion population.
So far, the World Gastronomy Forum has successfully held four sessions and one summit in China, Japan, and Türkiye, and has released important outcomes such as the Awaji Island Declaration, the Istanbul Gastronomy Declaration, and the Hainan Initiative, making a positive contribution to the systematic solution of food-related issues related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 13/17.
In October 2024, the fourth World Food Science Forum was grandly held in Haikou, China. Over 300 experts, scholars, diplomatic envoys, political leaders, and entrepreneur representatives from 43 countries gathered together to jointly explore global food challenges and solutions. UN Secretary-General António Guterres sent a written message to the forum, calling on the international community to take joint action to address the current global food crisis.
The 5th World Food Science Forum will be held in Hainan, China, in October 2025. The forum will continue to gather global wisdom, promote sustainable development and solutions to food-related issues, and contribute to building a healthier and fairer global food system.
